  This organization is constantly and forever on the defensive it seems. The need to destroy JC notes and get rid of old publications is not a religion built on truth...rather an organization that has lots to hide...lots that can implicate and incriminate it!

  The timing of this 8/28/2019 elder's letter is also fishy...in that it comes on the heels of the recent passing of the Child Victims Act...Hmmm!

  so the organisation has developed a new software for the coordination of nearly everything!

  i just want point out a few things i notice about the new hub icon logo.

  the image contains twelve pillars with the 2 at the front being the prominent.

  WT Teaching That You Can't Leave Behind

  after posting on another thread it became apparent to me that it can be difficult for some ex jws to totally shake off all wt teaching , even after leaving the org.

  do you still feel guilty going into a church for a wedding or a funeral .

  can you bring yourself to celebrate birthdays or christmas .

  the fact that there are pomi ex-jws who have been disfellowshiped or inactive for years who still live in constant fear of armageddon indicates that watchtower will manage to exist in one way or another for years, if not decades, to come.

  watchtower, like all other religious cults, operate on the premise that "you can fool some of the people all of the time...and that's enough!

  This stat is excessively exaggerated & is a crock of shit! WT wants JWs to count as a study someone you call back on and have a 5 minute or less conversation (about the family dog, the weather, how many times you crap a day...etc) on the front door step.

  Actual one hour home Bible studies...where a JW sits down with an outsider to discuss the Bible has got to be extremely low. Not to mention that the above number includes make-believe studies JW parents have with their children.

  Zalkin Law Firm flooded with calls from ex-JWs

  yesterday, i posted a question for a friend in texas as to whom he should contact to report sexual abuse from the 1960s by a jw pioneer/elder who is now deceased.

  (incidentally, there are plenty of people who are still alive and in the organization who were very aware of the circumstances and who can be summoned to give testimony regarding these accusations.

  ) so, my friend called the zalkin law firm.

  Publisher numbers versus baptised witnesses.

  i grew up as a witness, and left about 10 years ago, i'm currently researching witness numbers for a project i'm working on, and i can't seem to get an accurate number of baptised witnesses - hardly a surprise!

  from their website it looks like they list the number of publishers instead of the number of baptised witnesses, so it totally works to obscure how many actual witnesses there are, apart from the fact it's morally dubious to class a publisher as a minister of god as they refer to publishers on their uk section of the site.

  i also am trying to work out how many leave every year, even approximate figures would be great, from their own website it just looks like they try to massage figures to make them look as favourable as possible.

  peacefulpete: The JWs are growing, don't knock yourself out because of it.

  Many a JW are backsliding when it comes to meeting attendance alone. The number of those opting to stay home and call in on their phones is on the rise. And why are more & more missing meetings...cause of the sheer boredom of these midweek and weekend gatherings. So if the rank & file are showing a cooling-off trend it stands to reason that outsiders will pickup the negative vibes and not bother with the stupidity of this cult as well.

  The only growth you're seeing, peacefulpete, is from babies and toddlers of JW parents.

  WT boasts having + or - 120,000 congregations worldwide. I would venture a guess that up to 5 on average per congregation fade & become seriously inactive annually! That's roughly 600,000 per year. This is the current trend. That number may seem high to some...don't forget that the number of congregation mergers & Kingdom Hall sell-off is also high and risen!

  Add in the fact that there are next to zero new outside converts to replace those that are on the fade.

  Bottom line...there is a sizable exodus currently taking place among the JW rank and file not to mention the large number of JWs dealing with cognitive dissonance...Yay!👍
